It has mostly wooden furniture – old chest of drawers, cabinets, wall panels, poster beds, side tables, book shelves and carts. Most of them are purportedly restored items, retrieved from heritage sites. The artefacts have either been repaired or recreated from wood of old bullock carts, doors, windows and unwanted furniture. The shop is full of interesting and aesthetically pleasing objects – mirrors, partitions and paintings included. You simply cannot leave without buying something, anything, even a souvenir. Small boxes and frames sell for Rs. 800 to Rs.1000 each, while chests and shelves are sold for about Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 20,000 per piece, while the beds and heavy furniture command higher prices. Traditional craft-based techniques, natural dyes and contemporary designs lend an authentic look and feel to the salwar-kameez, skirts, tunics, shorts, stoles, churidars, Patiala-style salwars, dupattas, jackets, shirts and saris that are stocked in plenty . You can pick up a chic skirt and top with traditional Indian block print – it gives a modern, yet ethnic touch to the dress. Long and short kurtas with beautiful ethnic prints in a variety of colours and textures are a great attraction. Kurtas in mull (very soft cotton) with (vegetable dye block printing technique prints, in linen with exquisite embroidery and in silk and Chanderi cotton are all breathtakingly beautiful.
