The Hasli’s true impact is felt when it is paired with a big pendant. The sales people are attentive and methodical. There is hardly any item on display at Mehrae-Di-Hatti. In fact, you will find it quite odd initially. Their beautiful and ornate gold rings are very attractive and the unique kadas or bangles will beckon as well. Some of these pieces are really heavy with intricate minakari (enamel) work and semi-precious stone studding. But it is the plain gold work that stands out – snake-scales, beads and rhodium polish – crafting at its best. They come with a price, upwards of Rs. 1.5 lakh per piece. The shop can be found in South Extension and Rajouri Garden as well as Bank Street, Karol Bagh; but this shop is the parent store with an extensive collection . The broad chunky bangles or kadas with intricate work in gold, minakari and antique polish, are matchless. The Kundan and diamond polki sets are awe-inspiring and, at Rs. 6 lakh a set, are fit for brides.
