The term khādī or khaddar means cotton. Khādī is Indian handspun and hand-woven cloth. The raw materials may be cotton, silk, or wool, which are spun into threads on a spinning wheel called a charkha. Khaddar collects purely hand-woven cotton fabric from traditional weavers from all over the country, makes readymade garments and sells these through its outlets. Earthy shades dominate their product range. Their products are simple, sophisticated and smart looking, without any embellishments –comfortable and affordable.
Tussar, pure silk and cotton saris, dress materials with hand woven block prints and embroidered textiles are the popular offerings in Kanishka. The textiles are commissioned from handloom weavers from all over India. The handmade fabrics feature both figurative and ornamental patterns that are based on regional folk traditions, ancient scripts and classical Indian motifs. The vibrant and colorful motifs use a range of vegetable dyes ,tea leaves, indigo, roots, and flower petals ,which combine to make striking colors. Fabrics like handlooms, mulmul, tussar and raw silk with Kanishka’s signature prints combined with embroidery, zari, and even a sprinkling of sequins are the USP of this store. Indo-Westerns, skirts and kurtis, and short kurtas with pants are also part of the offering.

You can get custom made sarees with traditional fabrics like silk, tussar, mulmul and khadi , with ethnic Indian designs.
