Jaipur Modern, as the name suggests, is a lifestyle store in Jaipur for modern men & women. Maximiliano Modesti and Yash Agarwal are the founders of this store. Modern is housed in a 1940s residential bungalow close to the MI Road Shopping Market in Jaipur. Manish Agarwal showed us around this small store.
One can shop for stylish designer dresses and furnishings in premium cotton prints. The fabrics are sourced directly from weavers in Rajasthan and from other Indian States such as West Bengal & Telengana. The blue indigo block print fabric is from Rajasthan. Pochampally (ikkat) cottons are from Telengana. Italian designers use these beautiful fabrics to make stylish dresses and home furnishings. And voila! We have a high-end designer store right in the middle of Jaipur.
There are tops, tunics, and jackets in light cottons. The cushions covers, duvets and quilts are ever so soft and classy. The fabrics and the prints are unusual and unlike what is available in the Bapu Bazar and Zohari Bazar markets. Beautiful stoles & scarves in pashmina, wool & silk are all available here. There is a small section of gold-plated silver jewellery. In addition, they have a section dedicated to men’s apparel.
Do not miss sitting down at the café overlooking the garden to enjoy their delicious tea and snacks.
Shopping in this Jaipur store is a totally different experience as compared to shopping in the crowded Jaipur shopping markets and Jaipur bazaars. The quiet and the peaceful ambience add a great degree of charm to this Jaipur shop.
