What is a Kurti

Firstly, kurti is a short top worn by women. As a matter of fact, it can be paired with trousers, jeans or even skirts. For instance, they are mostly in cotton either plain or printed. this makes the kurti the most wearable dress in summers. Further, you can also find kurti in chanderi cotton, silk & also in soft silk. These are however worn in more pleasant weather.

What is a Kurta

A kurta is long top worn on top of the traditional salwar or churidar.

In comparison, a kurti is  short. Today, this garment is very much in vogue as they can be paired with jeans, trousers and skirts. As a garment it is very versatile. They  can be worn to a casual function or to a formal party.

Casual wear kurtis are made in cotton with or without embroidery. in other words, they are in plain cotton or with minimal embroidery or prints. At times, the kurti is paired with a stole.

Party wear kurtis are made in silk, georgette or crepe fabrics. A lot of embellishments in the form of embroidery or sequins and zardozi work is added to this. All the designer wear shops have kurti in a more party wear style.

Types of Kurti

Further, some are in block prints, some in ikaat prints, some in plain silk and some in Chanderi Silk. Chanderi silk  kurtis are all very popular. In fact, it is light weight & stylish and more important it falls well.

They can be paired with a stole or a half jacket to add some colour.
