Oberoi Mall in Goregaon, Mumbai is one of the best malls to visit when you want to spend a day shopping, catching a movie, spending play time with children and trying out interesting food. The mall is conveniently located right next to the Western Express Highway making it easy to reach by road. You can also take a train to Goregaon Station and then take a rickshaw to the mall.
First of all, as you enter the mall, the central space has a stage set up. On weekdays, you may see one of the mall shops set here. On weekends, you will see some live entertainment with product promotions and trying to get people to engage live with brands. The stage and the central space is also used by the mall to host painting and other activities for children.
The best part is that you will see almost all the popular brands in this mall. The ground floor is lined with Lifestyle, Vero Moda, Jack & Jones and Zara among other shops. Don’t miss the Nail Salon, where you can get yourself pampere’d and Uni, the unique watch store.
As for the list of stores you have Crossword, Nvi Salon and Spa, Home Center, Barbie, UCB, Accessorize, Global Desi, Label – Ritu Kumar, Peora, Central, Louie Phillipe, GAP, AND, 109 F, Biba, Cotton World, Fab India, Nature’s Basket, Nautica and Adidias. In addition, you also have Games Shop, Jashn, Van Huesen, Go Colours, Mineral, Helios, The Bombay Store, Spykar, Esbeda and Nalli among others.
So you see, you’ll definitely find something to shop for.
Play zones: There are two play zones in the mall. The smaller one on the first floor is for kids under five. You can leave your toddler here for an hour (for which they charge around Rs. 300), go hands-free and shop.
The bigger and more interesting play zone is on the top floor of the mall. You’ll have to buy a point card from Namco and redeem the points against various games or time spent in the kiddie zone. The zone is fully fortified and has several girls watching over the children with hawk eyes as they climb, slide and bounce around. If your child can conveniently forget your existence for an hour while he / she plays, you can drop them at the play zone and pick them up once you finish shopping.
The rest of the play zone is made up of video games and the like. Once you win some points you can redeem them at their store for toys or chocolates.
In addition, no mall is complete without a multiplex and Oberoi Mall has PVR Cinemas screening the latest releases.
The real reason why you’ll want to visit Oberoi mall every weekend is the array of options in the food court. There is the Olive Bristo and bar, Moshes, the very interesting Goregaon Social, Asia Kitchen, Creme Center, thalis from Maharaja bhoj and an entire open food court with KFC, McDees, Taco Bell, Zoodles, Soberro, Malgudi, Chaat Bazaar, Subway, mm!Maaroosh and Mad Over Doughnuts.
Last but not the least, if you have a sweet tooth head straight to the middle of the food court which has Gelato Italiano, Sweet Bengal, Belgian Waffles, Shahi Durbar and Natural Ice creams.
1) Women’s Wednesday: A clutch of brands come together on Wednesday with special offers for women who shop above Rs. 1000! Therefore, you get much more for the same price.
2) Club Uno – A loyalty program launched by the mall. You can use the app every time you shop, eat, play or watch a movie and get reward points! Especially relevant if you plan to visit the mall often but not otherwise.
3)Weekends: You’ll find a good chunk of Mumbai converging at the mall – things can probably get really crowde’d!
