Luxury Goods-Couture

As a matter of fact, High-end Luxury signifies status symbols and is a differentiator. Owning that unique Patek Phillipe watch, Lamborghini car, designer clothing and so on separates the owner from the rest of the pack. True Luxury is defined by a commitment & passion for creating an exceptional experience with a superior product. High price, limited availability (only few of these available) and endorsement by celebrities are marks of true luxury. Above all, the product, price, personalisation, packaging along with a pampered buying experience are a call out.

It was most certainly a fashion extravaganza and an ostentatious display of some of the most beautiful designer dresses that Indian designers could create. It was a fashion parade of Indian designers all the way, as all the invitees paraded in designer lehengas. For example, the pink lehenga worn by Radhika Merchant was created by designer Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla and inspired by artist Jayasri Burman’s paintings. Further, it featured gold zardozi hand embroidered resham work. Such was the extent of artistry & detailing that captivated the world. Floral themed lehengas dominate her showroom. Floral in the form of prints, embroidery work and so on. Clearly, she draws inspiration from the Forts & Palaces in Rajasthan. For instance, several of these iconic heritage buildings in Rajasthan are known for inlaid marble work in a triangle or square marble background with floral motifs in the middle. Anita Dongre’s lehengas take inspiration from these age-old architectural designs and replicate them on to the dresses. Further Pichwai designs are also exquisitely copied on to the dresses. They are beautiful, ebullient & colourful. The lehengas are beautifully coloured in pink, green blue, red & so on. They are colour coded and stocked. There is zardozi, resham embroidery, gota pati & mirror work incorporated in the dresses.

is one of the reputed designers who has outfitted beautiful Bollywood brides. For instance, Kiara Advani wore one of his bespoke creations at her wedding. The bridal lehenga had colour gradations in rose pink from light to dark with 3 special dyes. The design had special dome-like structures  and was embellished with a lot of Swarovski crystals. Parineeti Chopra was another heroine who opted for a MM lehenga in a beige ivory colour set off with green coloured jewellery. It had intricate hand embroidery sequins, with embroidery done in linear geometric patterns. It also featured a tulle framework dupatta with her husband Raghav’s name written on it. Both of these creations were outstanding and distinct.

Kashmiri embroidery lehenga sets with acrylic mirror, thread embroidery & sequins dominate his current selection. What we saw was more monochrome dresses that are the theme for this season. They are shaded in pink, lemon yellow, sea blue colours. The collection does not have floral prints like some other designers but has more geometric patterns, embroidery & sequins in pastel colours with pearls & Kashmiri work. The clothes are stocked in separate sections as bridal collection & cocktail, reception collection & so on.
