La Boutique D’Auroville is a large store in  the Auroville complex.Each of the three shops in Auroville stocks very interesting, useful and unique products although several of the items may look and feel similar in the three stores. It is a lively and interesting place to shop.

Garments at La Boutique D’Auroville

There is an impressive and extensive collection of garments in the store. Moreover, the garments are manufactured in  the Auroville township at Upasana, Grecko, Miniature, Rangoli and a few other manufacturing units.

Grecko manufactures tops and shirts made of linen and bamboo. Upasana, on the other hand, offers stylish skirts and palazzos in unusual prints. The pieces are distinct and not run-of-the-mill garments. While the prices are not cheap, they are not too expensive either. However, the design and comfort make these clothes very attractive.

Shoes & Stationery at La Boutique D’Auroville

There are interesting shoes that are available in La Boutique D’Auroville. These shoes are crocheted at Ganesh beads. What’s more, the colours and comfort of these shoes is something difficult to match. They are handmade shoes and the prices are very reasonable at Rs 600/pair.

Also, you may shop here for envelopes, notepads & photo albums and interesting stationery. Large trays, table mats and matching coasters are available. Trays are in the Rs 800-Rs 900/piece price range. Moreover, 6 glass coasters with a wooden stand would cost you about Rs 1,000 .

There is a separate section for candles and personal care products, insect repellants and home fragrances.

Ceramics at La Boutique D’Auroville

This store has the best collection of ceramics & pottery. No doubt the Auroville ceramics are utilitarian and aesthetically designed.Coffee cups and mugs in earthen colours, trays, cereal bowls, pasta bowls, butter dish, salt & pepper shakers and chutney servers are some cute little things that one can always pick up in the store . There are tea sets and more. Look around the vast collection and take your time to decide.

Young girls from nearby villages work as sales girls here and do a pretty neat job at it.
