Assamese silk sarees are made from Muga silk, Pat silk and the Eri or Endi silk. Muga yarn cannot be bleached or dyed and hence its natural golden color is retained in the fabric. Others like Pat silk are usually in brilliant white or off-white colour. Eri silk is soft and warm and is popularly used in shawls and quilts.
Handicrafts
They also stock handicrafts and decor items such as the miniature one horned rhinos, decorative hats, lampshades and baskets, trays and flower vases. Some of them are made of straw and other natural light weight materials.
