State Cauvery Emporium in Bangalore

The State Cauvery Emporium is in a small lane, off the main MG Road. It is behind the Trinity Metro station in Bangalore.

There is a a good collection of artefacts, jewellery & handicrafts from several Indian States & exquisite Kashmiri carpets in this Bangalore shop.

Silver Jewellery– As you enter this shop, there is a large room with handicrafts and silver jewellery on the right. Do take a look. Brass items such as lamps and figurines of deities are available here. There are a few bronze sculptures that are also available. Silver jewellery such as chains and earrings is also available.

Marble handicraftsMarble artifacts such as a miniature Taj Mahal, table tops, plates and lamps in marble is also available in the State Cauvery Emporium.

Kashmiri carpets in the State Cauvery Emporium – There is a wonderful collection of carpets on the room to the left. There is a huge display of a real carpet which is in the semi-finished stage and where the warp & the weft threads are on display. This is to showcase the intricacies of the carpet weaving process to customers. There are carpets stacked on all the sides in the room. Do take a good look at the sizes & colors, before making your selection. Carpets are heirlooms to be passed down from one generation to the next.

Traditionally, Kashmir, UP and Rajasthan in India make carpets. Kashmiri carpets are available in the The State Cauvery Emporium. There are silk on silk carpets, where the warp and the weft are silk threads. Then there is silk and cotton, wool on wool or cotton on wool carpets. The silk on silk carpets are the most expensive and are very exquisite.

The State Cauvery Emporium is one of the best shops for Kashmiri carpets in Bangalore.
