Lajpat Nagar Shopping – Nargis
The Nargis shop is located adjacent to Sita Fabrics in the Lajpat Nagar Market.
The mannequins are all stylishly dresse’d. There is one in a dark green sharara, one in an anarkhali salwar dress, one in a lehenga with a short sequined top and one in a glitzy orange saree. The shop looks inviting.
We walk into the store. The shop is brightly lit with lots of colourful dresses on display and it is crowded. Every counter had customers engaging with the sales personnel.
Salwar Kameez Fabrics
We checked the unstitched salwar suits in the shop. They have a stock of salwar kameez(salwar suits) with the latest embroidery in pleasing summer colours. There were women trying to pick the salwar kameez of their choice. Apart from simple casual wear salwar kameez fabrics, the store also had a range of salwar kameez fabrics that have minimal gold & colourful embroidery. Some of the pieces had heavy ornate embroidery.
Salwar Suits in Nargis
There are ready to wear salwar suits and gowns – Anarkali style long dresses and ornate gowns. These dresses are typically worn for pre wedding functions such-as the Sangeet function.
Shararas & Ghararas
There was a stock of heavily work’ed shararas and ghararas on display. Some were in contrasting shades, for e.g., the top would be in an orange colour and that was paired with a cream or a blue sharara. The cost is approximately Rs. 10000- Rs. 13000/piece.
Bridal Lehengas in Nargis
Nargis also stocks bridal lehengas. We found a collection of typical bright red and pink lehengas with heavy zardozi and sequins work on display. There were select pieces which were very grand and looked ideal for brides.
Party Wear Sarees in Nargis – Lajpat Nagar
The store also stocks sarees. There were casual wear georgette and silk sarees and heavy sarees with embroidery, sequins, zardozi work or resham work.
About Nargis Store – Our Take
One has to have ample time to browse through the selection. Heavily worked ornate designs may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
The store was packe’d with customers.
