Jamdani weaving is a traditional Bengali occupation. It is one of the most time consuming and labor intensive form of hand loom weaving. The weave was called Dhakai earlier. The name comes from Dhaka city, capital of Bangladesh, where this type of sari was tradionally made. Kantha embroidery is a quilting stitch popular in Bangladesh and West Bengal.
