Nagaland Emporium, Connaught Place – Handloom Retailers in Delhi

Nagaland is a vibrant hill State located in the North East of India, bordering Myanmar. Each of the 16 odd tribes that live in this exotic hill State can easily be distinguished by its colourful costumes, jewellery and the beads that its people wear. There is a good collection of tribal jewellery on display in the Nagaland Emporium.

Besides, Naga women are excellent weavers of colorful shawls, bags and jackets. The colors used are predominantly black, red and white. Each tribe has a distinct pattern of weaving the fabric. One can also find a great variety of shawls, table runners and cushion covers here.

Storage and carry baskets from cane and bamboo are also available.

In addition, pottery and carved wood, that typically adorn gates and house posts in Nagaland, are on display in the basement.

The Emporium stocks a good representative collection of the Naga ethnic arts and crafts. Look for other state emporiums in Delhi.
