Unique, traditional patterns in vibrant colours like red, brown, crème, and black and white make the carpets stand out. Particularly spectacular are the kilims (flat tapestry woven carpets from the Balkans, normally used as decoratives or as prayer mats). Kilims are also used as floor carpets in Western countries these days. There is a good collection of carpets and kilims in wall-to-wall sizes as well as non-standard sizes to fit required spaces. The carpets are made of wool and silk. The prices are at Rs. 5,000 for very small rugs, Rs. 9,000 for a 3 by 4 feet carpet and Rs. 12,000 for the 4 by 6 feet carpet. The more expensive carpets bear prices that range from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 2 lakh each. The prices depend on the material, size and antique value. Worn and antique carpets from various countries around the world are also restored and sold. The shop is big and well-lit and has been around for many years. The owners also have a smaller showroom close by . This is a basement shop for cushions, Indian dhurries, shaggy carpets and woollen carpets. Makrana (a place in Nagaur district of Rajasthan State where milky white stone is mined) marble statues are a big attraction. Another attraction is the blue pottery from Jaipur: vases, ashtrays, plates and tiles that are totally besotting. Camel leather shoes and jootis are popular and so are the low slung foldable chairs, chowkis or bajots (very low tables, often used for religious purposes) jhoolas (swings) and puja mandaps (pedestals for worship) – all made from wood and painted in vibrant colours. Miniature paintings on camel bones and paper which narrate tales from the royal past of the Shekhawati region are famous and cost around Rs. 8,000 per piece. Check out the wide range of saris in cotton, chiffon, georgette and silk and sporting different names, depending on their place of origin or method of creation. You have Sanganeri, Bagru, Barmeri, Khari, Leheria, Zari Kota Doria, Mothda, Bandhej, they are all available. Also, make sure you pick up the light weight Jaipuri quilt (razai) , with cotton block prints. This eco-friendly comforter is a must have.

Ornate borders in Kinari Bazar In embroidery, kinari means edging or borders – so the small market is replete with ribbons and borders for saris and salwars. The collection is huge – plain, silver and gold textured patterns, gold strings, mirror-work, kundan, sequin, lace, embroidery, embellishments galore! The borders come in lots of colours and varying widths, from thin ribbon strings to four-inch borders for lehengas. Borders are normally sold as nine-meter pieces and cost anything between Rs. 400 and Rs. 3000 each ,depending on the work. This market also has some shops which sell gift boxes, tissue cloth bags, ribbons and gold- plated trays for weddings or special occasions.
