While the designs are indegenious and toe the traditional style, the cuts and colours embrace modern trends. So you can manage the conservatively contemporary look! The sari collection on the second floor includes georgette, chiffon, net and silk saris. Those with simple prints are priced upwards of Rs. 5,000 each, wheras the wedding range sporting designer labels, semi-precious stones, beads and grandiose embroidery is priced at Rs. 55,000 per sari. Meena Bazar -South Extension Meena Bazar is a popular store in the SouthExtension Market.it has been in the same location for several years.Meena Bazar is associated with good quality salwar kameez, lehengas cholis and party wear sarees. This Meena Bazar shop is a small shop compared with some of the shops in the malls. The mannequins are draped is beautiful green colour sarees. This changes every fortnight . Salwar Kameez sets As you enter the Meena Bazar shop, you will notice the latest designs in Anarkali salwar kameez and other salwars on the right .There are just a handful of pieces, however, that is sufficient to get a flavour of the variety and designs that are available. Long open front heavily embroidered anarkali gowns with matching trousers and dupattas seem to be the flavour of the month. Then there are shararas that are bottom wear which are narrow at the knees and then has flares below. Both the sharara and the tops have heavy zardozi work done on them. Bridal lehengas & blouses Lehengas blouses are typical wedding dresses. It is a heavily embroidered skirt with a short blouse and a dupatta. Designers bring in new lehengas designs often. Meena Bazar has its own in house designers who create beautifully embroidered lehenga pieces in red, pink ,maroon and other pastel shades. The prices would be Rs1,00,000/piece. the weigh about 10 kgs each. That is the kind of embroidery done on the fabrics. Sarees They have a stock of simple sarees to heavy zardozi worked sarees. Anantam South Ex had opened their showroom a couple of years ago. They stock traditional Indian, Indo western and fusion garments. The interesting feature is that garments and accessories by several Indian designers are displayed in the store. It is hence a mix of styles, designs and colours. This makes the purchasing decision an exciting and unique experience. Lehenga cholis, anarkali suits, sarees, gowns et all are available. The accessories include jootis (closed shoes made with embroidered fabric), typically worn with salwar suits, chain, earrings and bracelets made with silver. Namrata Gupta and Rajesh Gupta are the owners, and they have a store in the Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon. Anantam South Ex is one of the best shops for bridal lehengas.
