The State of Karnataka is famous for rosewood, sandalwood and teakwood. The Sandalwood gives out a wonderful fragrance and can be easily carved to make beautiful figurines. Cauvery Karnataka State Arts and Crafts Emporium stocks a great selection of such pieces ,including garlands made with sandalwood carvings.

Mysore and Bengaluru are the main centers for rose wood carving and the local artists make beautiful items. Tables, chairs and dining pieces are all available with inlay work on them. Jamdani weaving is a rich intricate and traditional work on cotton or fine cotton (muslin) . Today ,Jamdani saris are available in cotton, pure silk and tussar silk. Daccai (Dhakai)Jamdani saris are distinct from other varieties due to their very fine texture and their elaborate and ornate workmanship. The saris are elegant,simple & affordable . Tant cotton saris with gold zari work are around Rs 2000 a piece . The saris are in very light shades such as beige, off white, pink & yellow.
